Class 1 is made up of 21 children in Reception and Year 1. We spend our time playing and enjoying fun, independent learning activities as well as developing our reading, writing and number work through teacher led and supported activities. In Class one, we love to work hard and play lots!
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, which includes the following areas:
The three prime areas:
- communication and language
- physical development
- personal, social and emotional development
And the four specific areas:
- understanding the world
- expressive arts and design
We also follow the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1
Mrs Park and Mrs Brown are the class teachers and they are supported by Miss Rogers and Miss Woods to make a very busy and happy classroom environment. (Mrs Park works Monday to Wednesday, Mrs Brown works Thursday and Friday).
We have an exciting term ahead of us as we settle into school, but don't worry, there are lots of Year 1 children ready to help! We are sure that your child's transition into school life will be fun and straightforward and these first years will be some of the best!
Together, we aim to provide a safe, caring and supportive environment where each child can achieve their potential. We also like to involve parents and carers as much as possible, so please feel free to come and speak to us anytime. Remember to send in those WOW stickers when your child makes you as proud of them as we are!!
