Class 2

We are looking forward to working with you and your child to make sure that their experience in the class is a happy and positive one!

We encourage all children in the class to be independent and think of ways in which they can help themselves or others. We would be grateful for your support in encouraging independence in simple ways at home too.

There is a positive ethos in the classroom and we all try to do our best by working hard, being kind to others and by following the golden rules of the school. House points, star of the week certificates and stickers are given to individual children and collectively we earn class stars and choose a treat for the whole class if we achieve at least 20 stars!

Homework:

Reading

Reading is an important skill that needs to be supported at home. We would encourage you to be listening to your child read at home at least five times per week. Reading books will be changed every day in school. Please write in the reading record noting the date, the page they read to, any comments you wish to make and sign the entry.

Spelling

Spellings will be sent home every Monday in a spellings book. These spellings should be learnt at home and will be tested in school the following week.

Parent Helpers:

If you feel that you would be willing to help in class two by listening to readers or in any other way we would delighted to have you working with us! Please let us know.

As always if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to ring school to make an appointment or speak to us at the end of the day.
