Hazel

Hazel Class is made up of a mix Year 1 and Year 2 children and we work together to learn new things by following our Golden Rules.  We choose a new topic every term that is based on the children's interests.  We learn about thing in creative and cross curricular way!  We help each other to develop into independent learners thinking of different ways that we can help ourselves in our learning. We would be grateful for your support in encouraging independence in simple ways at home too.

Reading

Reading is an important skill that needs to be supported at home. We would encourage you to be listening to your child read at home at least five times per week. Reading books will be changed every day in school. Please write in the reading record noting the date, the page they read to, any comments you wish to make and sign the entry.

Spelling

Spellings will be sent home every Friday. These spellings should be learnt at home and will be tested in school the following week.

Parent Helpers:

If you feel that you would be willing to help in class two by listening to readers or in any other way we would delighted to have you working with us! Please let us know.

As always if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to ring school to make an appointment or speak to us at the end of the day.
