school dog
Cameley School are lucky to have their very own school dog, Pepper the Miniature Schnauzer. Pepper is very gentle and calm and belongs to Mrs Gardner (Willow Class Teacher) and her family.
The children will have the opportunity to learn how to look after him, how to stroke him and how to keep themselves safe around dogs. Children will be supervised at all times.
Please do let the school know if your child is nervous around animals or you wish your child to opt out of having close contact with Pepper.
The Dog's Trust have produced a useful document to learn about dogs and how to be safe around them: Be Safe Be Kind
Governors
The Local Governing Body
The Partnership Trust (multi-academy trust) sets the framework which determines how the headteacher and staff run the school. The headteacher is responsible for the day-to-day management and the Local Governing Body (LGB) for strategic decisions. The LGB is there as a critical friend to support and challenge the school to ensure that it achieves its vision. The LGB is accountable to parents, the wider community, the trust and the diocese.
The school joined The Partnership Trust on 1st June 2019 with the school’s Local Governing Body answerable to the trustees. At Cameley CEVC Primary School, we comprise representatives from the parent, teacher, church and wider communities. We have an expectation of excellence and continuous improvement. We work very closely with the staff to ensure that our finances, premises, curriculum and strategic direction are effectively managed, giving every child the opportunity to reach their full potential and to deliver this we have a team of governors each with a different role and responsibility. Vacancies occur from time to time, therefore If you would like to join the governors please contact the clerk on office@cameleyprimary.org.uk to express your interest.
An overview of the parent governor's role can be viewed here (PDF).
